This guide provides information on how to register to vote in the 2024 Virginia elections.
In-Person Absentee Voting (“Early Voting”)
You can vote absentee in-person at the Registrar’s Office located at 1876 Sandy Hook Road, Goochland, VA 23063 during regular business hours, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM weekdays, beginning Friday, December 27th and continuing through Friday, January 3rd. The office will be closed on January 1st for New Year’s Day. The office will also be open for Absentee Voting on Sunday, December 29th, from 12 PM to 4 PM as well as Saturday, December 28th and Saturday, January 4th, from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Absentee Voting by Mail
Ballots for the January 7th Special Election will be available Friday, December 27th, but you can request them now! The last day to request an Absentee Ballot to be mailed to you is Friday, December 27, 2024.
Applications can be submitted in person at the Registrar’s Office at 1876 Sandy Hook Rd, Goochland, VA 23063, by mail to General Registrar at PO Box 1013, Goochland, VA 23063, by fax to 804-556-6323 or by email to [email protected].
You can also apply for an Absentee Ballot online at https://vote.elections.virginia.gov/VoterInformation.
Returning Your Ballot
You can return your voted ballot by mail to PO Box 1013, Goochland, VA, 23063.
Ballots may also be returned during regular business hours to the drop-off location at the Registrar’s Office 1876 Sandy Hook Rd, Goochland, VA 23063 or at the Voter Satellite Office at the Goochland County Sports Complex 1800 Sandy Hook Rd, Goochland, VA 23063.
The drop-off location at the office will also be open on Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 12 PM to 4 PM as well as Saturday, December 28th and Saturday, January 4th from 9 AM to 5 PM.
