How to Set Up Your Safescan LD-3336 Cash Drawer

The Safescan LD-3336 cash drawer features a microswitch compatible with the “Lock order screen when cash drawer opens” setting found in POS configurations.

If you plan to manually open the cash drawer, simply place it on the counter and keep the key nearby in a secure location within your establishment.

If you want your cash drawer to open automatically when you complete a sale, ensure it’s connected to your receipt printer via an RJ12 to RJ45 cable.

To set up the cash drawer, you’ll need the following:

  • Cash drawer (APG Minota 16×16 or Safescan LD-3336).
  • Cash tray (pre-installed in the cash drawer).
  • Cash drawer cable.
  • Keys (2).

Connecting the correct ends of the cash drawer cable to the receipt printer and the cash drawer is crucial. Otherwise, your drawer won’t open automatically. Pay close attention to the size of each cable end.

  1. Connect the smaller end of the cable to the receipt printer and the larger end to the cash drawer.
  2. Turn the key to the vertical position to unlock the cash drawer.

Your cash drawer will now open automatically whenever you print a receipt. The Safescan LD-3336’s microswitch allows for seamless POS system integration, automatically locking the screen upon opening for enhanced security and cash control. Correctly connecting the RJ12 and RJ45 cable ends ensures proper functionality of the automatic opening mechanism.
