Can I Still Register to Vote?

California’s Online Voter Registration system will be temporarily unavailable for scheduled maintenance from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on February 9, 2025.

During this time, you can still register to vote online. However, you will need to print, sign, and mail in your registration form. You can also return to register online after the system is back up without printing or mailing any forms.

Registering to vote is a right and a responsibility. By participating in elections, you have a voice in shaping the future of your community and country. Don’t let system maintenance prevent you from exercising your right to vote.

If you do not have a California driver’s license or identification card, you can still use this form to register to vote. However, you will need to take a few extra steps to complete your registration. You will need to provide your social security number and date of birth.

If you are 16 or 17 years old, you can pre-register to vote using this online application. When you turn 18, you will be automatically registered to vote.

You can check your voter registration status and, if registered, what county you are registered in. This helps ensure your registration information is accurate and up-to-date.

You can find information on voter registration and polling places at your county elections office. Contact your local county elections office for more information.

If you have any questions or would like to report fraud, call the Secretary of State’s Voter Hotline at (800) 345-VOTE (8683) or your county elections office. Staff will be available to answer your questions and guide you through the registration process.
