The Greenville Register Of Deeds is responsible for receiving, recording, and maintaining a library of land records indexed alphabetically. Hard copy land records date back to 1838 and the index of plans, plot plans, and surveys date back to the 1800s. Surveys are referenced by the owner’s name, the surveyor, and the town where the land is located. The Greenville Register of Deeds is an elected position within Piscataquis County government and the term of office is four years. Registry hours are 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Indexes and digital images can be viewed free of charge at: www.maineregistryofdeeds.com. Click on Maine Registry of Deeds Association (statewide portal) and select Piscataquis County on the map. Please Note: Not all document images are available on our website. Index books predating Piscataquis are available to search alphabetically.
Registry staff will prepare copies of records to be mailed, emailed or picked up at the Registry. Providing book and page numbers allows our staff to serve you more efficiently. We require the land owner’s name and approximate year of purchase (not lot and map number from taxes), if book and page numbers are unknown.
