CHS Acquires American Hotel Register Company Assets

Consolidated Hospitality Supplies Holdings (CHS), a platform backed by HCI Equity Partners (HCI), announced the acquisition of the North American inventory and certain operating assets of American Hotel Register Company (American Hotel), including American Hotel’s “Registry” brand. Since 1865, American Hotel has supported the growth of the hospitality industry with over 70,000 products.

In 2017, HCI entered the hospitality supply sector with the acquisition of Amtex and its “Infiniti” and “Hotelo” brands, which have a strong foothold in the mid-scale and value hotel markets. Following the transaction, CHS, with the newly acquired American Hotel assets and its Amtex business, will create a hospitality supply platform that enhances the Company’s market share, expands its product portfolio, and improves customer engagement through nationwide sales force execution and coverage. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

CHS will offer customers a more diversified range of products from 5,000 brands, recognized for quality throughout the hospitality industry. The newly formed company will be ideally positioned to serve customers across the entire market, from value to luxury hotels.

“This is terrific news for the hospitality industry,” said Doug McCormick, Managing Partner of HCI. “With the addition of American Hotel’s extensive product portfolio, we have created the most comprehensive product offering of any hospitality supplier.”

“This acquisition is exciting for us and our partners and will reshape the hospitality industry,” said Bill Hirsch, an industry veteran and the Chief Executive Officer of CHS. “Together, the Amtex and American Hotel Register Company brands will be uniquely positioned to serve a broad array of hospitality customers across North America. This acquisition provides us with significant presence in key categories, builds relationships with new vendors and will allow us to deliver improved value and service to our customers.”

“The pandemic created extraordinarily difficult challenges for American Hotel Register Company and its stakeholders, so we are thrilled that CHS will be able to restore American Hotel’s strong legacy of effectively serving the hospitality community,” said Geoff Feingold, Vice President of Sales for CHS. “With the immediate and significant investment in inventory complemented by CHS’ management team and infrastructure, we are confident that we can re-establish American Hotel’s long history of exceptional service.”

CHS is the platform utilized by HCI to execute on its growth strategy of acquiring leading hospitality supply brands that customers value while driving efficiencies through consolidated sourcing and execution.
