Caldwell County Register of Deeds Office

The Caldwell County Register Of Deeds Office maintains real estate records dating back to 1841, the year the county was formed. These records include deeds, deeds of trust, releases of deeds of trust, power of attorney, assumed names, separation agreements, road maintenance agreements, and many other types of documents.

All of our real estate indexes are available online and images of all our documents are available from the early 1900s forward.

All real estate documents recorded in this office are public record and available for public inspection at our office from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

We cannot assist you in completing forms or performing title searches, as we are prohibited from engaging in the unauthorized practice of law by North Carolina General Statute.

North Carolina has recording standards that were implemented in 2002 for real estate documents.

All documents recorded with the Caldwell County Register of Deeds are scanned at the time of presentation and then returned to the individual or mailed.

A self-addressed stamped envelope is required if return of documents by mail is requested. All deeds must have the current Grantee mailing address before they can be recorded. All deeds and deeds of trust prepared in the State of North Carolina must have the name of the preparer of the document noted on the first page.
